Today is Employee Appreciation Day.
There are some employees who work for companies, who may not feel appreciated or motivated. But that just is not the case at Consultative Insurance Group.
Earlier this month we asked our team what was their favorite part of working at Consultative Insurance Group. The response? Unanimously, the people that work here.
With that said, I thought how cool would it be if our team shared what they admired about their teammates on Employee Appreciation Day? I am here to say our team jumped on the chance to share what they admire about their fellow teammates.
Our team is everything: we have the most genuinely caring people working here.
Here's What Our Team Had To Say
Sue Preston – I admire Sue. She never does just a good job when she can do a great one. She has so much to do on a day-to-day basis, but she makes sure it’s done correctly and with a smile on her face! She has a wonderful attitude every single day, and always has a smile on her face. She is a very hard worker who pays attention to detail. She’s done an excellent job making sure she gets information out, going through the download reports and overall, just wanting to make sure all of our client accounts are current and up-to-date, while attempting to help anyone she can in the agency. Sue is welcoming and kind. She offers to help where she can, is very dedicated to the team, and is happy to be here. Sue has a great heart and SHE is the heart of the office. Sue always has a willingness to help. I like that I can hear her smile through the phone. Sue is genuinely one of the nicest people I've met. She's sweet, has a big heart and is always willing to help you with whatever you need. She seeks out answers to things she doesn't know, and is a team player. I think many of us would be lost without her and we don't realize all of the work she does behind the scenes to make our jobs easier. If you've ever had to deal with doing downloads and document management for an agency -- you know how challenging it can be! It's so nice to know we have someone who takes care of our clients and accounts before we even know something was amiss!
Kindra Smith – I admire Kindra. Her motivation to keep things/people running smoothly in the agency. Even though there have been a lot of changes and struggles in the year, she still takes time to get to know her employees and make them feel like they have a purpose for their job. I just love everything about her. She is one of the sweetest people I know. I love how she words things when she is talking with a customer. I have learned so much from her over the years. She is also thinking about her business and how she can help other people. Kindra has an amazing personality, is confident in herself and in her abilities. She is dependable and is dedicated with a strong work ethic. Kindra is welcoming and kind. She offers to help where she can, is very dedicated to the team, and is happy to be here. Kindra has the ability to remember everything. When I think of Kindra, the word “entrepreneurship” comes to mind. She is involved in designing, launching, and running a new business enterprise to earn a profit, by ensuring the best possible use of resources. She is creative and an innovator – she embraces discovering new ideas and implementing them in the business. She continuously evaluates current modes of running a business, identifies new methods and techniques for operating our business more efficiently and effectively. Kindra is a risk bearer. She is willing to assume the risk –it is the essence of entrepreneurship, without it, we cannot succeed. It occurs due to the creation and implementation of new ideas. She can talk the talk and walk the walk. Kindra loves and takes care of her dogs better than we take care of our kids! Kindra works really hard to do what is best for our team, our agency, and our clients. I look up to her!
Ron Smith-- I admire Ron. His drive and love for the agency. When he talks, he motivates everyone to feel that passion and inspires us to do well. I admire his work ethic—always, He is always thinking ahead of what someone else is saying. He just amazes me with how quickly he can come back when speaking with a potential insured. He can read people very well. Doesn’t matter what he is doing, he is always thinking about how it can relate to his business. Ron is my hero. I used to think I was a natural salesman, but Ron is a legend. I have never seen his equal. I just listen to him work his magic. He is always one step ahead of everyone. He makes it all seem so easy. I want to be just like him! When I think of Ron, the word “entrepreneurship” comes to mind. He is constantly looking for ways to improve how we can improve our client’s experience with our agency and is not afraid to try new technology! He is a true Renaissance man! Ron has always had a great work ethic and is a forward thinker (ahead of the curve).
Julie Chowning – I admire Julie: she is a relentless machine when assigned a special project/task or defending our clients. She always strives to do it right the first time, and wants to do what is best for the agency. She supports whatever our office needs, in and out of work. She’s a genie in a bottle for sure! I admire Julie’s strong bonds she has made with her co-workers.
Chris Bohland – I admire Chris. Her desire to continually learn what comes next. Her compassion, which is also noticed by her clients, and the willingness to share her knowledge. She also assists her co-workers when needed. Chris is very patient with me.
Mariela Castillo Couch -- I admire Mariela. I admire her desire to continually learn what comes next. Her compassion, which is also noticed by her clients, and the willingness to share her knowledge. She also assists her co-workers when needed. Hearing Mariela talk with her clients always impresses me. She has a calming spirit about her. She is interested in what her clients share with her, and it shows her compassionate side.
Vickie Williams--I admire Vickie. I admire her desire to continually learn what comes next. Her compassion, which is also noticed by her clients, and the willingness to share her knowledge. She also assists her co-workers when needed. Vickie is always so positive and ready to go forward; she inspires me so! Vickie is always ready to do whatever is necessary for our agency. Her clients love her—she is so compassionate and works really hard to help educate her clients to better understand what insurance coverage they have and what they may need. Vickie treats everyone like family. She talks to the customers like she has known them all her life. She has a way of putting everyone at ease so it doesn't feel like she's selling them something. Even though she is extremely busy, she's always there to help when I need it.
Rachel Karaplis – I admire Rachel. I admire we are comfortable disagreeing and being able to work around it. Even when she does not have time, she is willing to try and help people out with whatever issue they may be having. She can excel at almost anything put in front of her. I’m glad we are able to joke with each other and can break up the day with a good laugh. Rachel is always there to give me directions via “cliff notes” even though she has sent me the email multiple times! This lady is amazing! She is so skilled in technology and takes time to explain it to me when I forget! She is a talented person and quite the benefit to our agency.
Ryan Smith – I admire Ryan. He has done an excellent job working with his new responsibilities as his role is changing around the office. Ryan is a great team player. It doesn’t matter what questions I ask him, if he doesn’t know the answer, he will find someone who does. He has quickly adapted to his new role as our sales manager, and I know he’s going to lead us to our best year ever! Ryan always reminds me to look in SharePoint. Ryan has designated quite a bit of his time into on-boarding new employees. Ryan had found his niche in our agency. He has transitioned into a good leader within our agency. I look forward to seeing how he continues to grow as a leader, and how he will lead our salespeople. Ryan is always there when I need his help. Ryan seems to be able to adapt to change and new directions in the business.
Ben Dawkins-- I admire Ben. He seems to have a desire to learn and an eagerness to put that into action. I just met Ben but I already admire his work ethic. He is a fierce salesman, determined to succeed. He is quickly learning his way around CIG and I know he’s going to do extremely well. He seems to genuinely enjoy his work and he is great at building trust with his clients. Ben is definitely focused on his clients and getting the best coverage available for them. At first meeting, I pegged him as quiet, but focused. But he is a well-rounded personality, a good salesman and beneficial to our agency.
Tracy Larson – I admire Tracy. She seems to have a desire to learn and an eagerness to put that into action. I am excited to see what her experience will bring to our clients! She has an eagerness to get started helping her clients get the insurance protection they need.
Maria Dea – I admire Maria. She seems to have a desire to learn and an eagerness to put that into action. She seems like a real nice person. She has a motorcycle, so I like her! I like her personality, and think she will fit in well with our group.
Paul Petrilla—I admire Paul. He has an amazing personality, and is confident in himself and his abilities. Paul is dependable and dedicated with a strong work ethic. Paul has so much knowledge with so many years in the insurance industry. He is easy going and friendly. Personally, I admire his ability to still stay active in sports. Paul is very good with his clients, and his clients highly respect him. Paul has an impeccable work ethic.
Victoria Conner—I admire Victoria. She has an amazing personality, and is confident in herself and her abilities. She is dependable and dedicated with a strong work ethic. She has a bold personality and a tenaciousness to make sure her clients understand what coverage they have and what they do not have. She is exceptional with people. Victoria is one of the most determined, high energy people I've ever met. She has a light to her, and that just comes through the phone. She's easy to talk to and makes you feel at ease. You can tell she wants to find great solutions for her clients. Victoria let me know the first time I met her that she was there to help me with anything. But what impresses me most about her is how good she is at her job. She obviously has a strong work ethic and is as knowledgeable about insurance as anyone I've met. I can also tell that she really loves her job.
Michelle Sharp – I admire Michelle. I admire her strong bond she has made with her co-workers. Michelle has long background in insurance and she is very knowledgeable. She is patient with her clients, and they highly respect her. Michelle is always available when I need her help. Michelle is very organized and handles clients quite well when problems arise.
Herb Decuers – I admire Herb. I admire his strong bond he has made with his co-workers. Herb’s insurance background is so diverse. He is a pleasure to talk with and has so much knowledge of different commercial businesses. He is definitely an asset to our agency – he is the total package!
Mary Delfs—I admire Mary. She is welcoming and kind. Mary offers to help where she can, is very dedicated to the team, and is happy to be here. Mary is very knowledgeable when it comes down to Life Insurance. She is always willing to share her knowledge of other carriers. I respect that Mary is a biker chick! Mary is a team player – she wants what is best for her clients and her team. She works hard for her clients, and they know it.
Kathy Leathers – I admire Kathy. Kathy is very dedicated to our agency. She works very hard, and it’s easy to see. She is very willing to help other people. She knows so much more about insurance than she can recall, and that is still so much more than me! Kathy is super sweet and brought bagels for everyone in celebration of new team members. I do not think I know of anyone more knowledgeable of insurance policy verbiage than Kathy. She is humble and kind. She is always willing to stop and help a team member, even when it is not always convenient.
Susan Jones – I admire Susan. Susan is very dedicated to our agency. She works very hard, and it’s easy to see. She is very willing to help other people. I admire her very much. Susan always has the answers. She is a mentor and friend. She always goes the extra mile for customers. She always has a smile and friendly voice. She’s truly amazing at what she does and what she knows. CIG is blessed to have her as their coastal expert. When I think of Susan, the word entrepreneurship comes to mind. I have seen her professionalism and grit in putting together quotes and closing accounts. She creates confidence in new prospects and they, in turn, become new clients. She is a pleasure to work with because we both want the same thing, to make the client comfortable enough to place their business with us. Susan has a good wit about her. Susan is always thinking about her business 24/7, even on vacations. I love her knowledge – it is so nice to have someone to call just to bounce things off of. She is always willing to stop what she is doing to help others!
Kristina Hartson – I admire Kristina. She is hard-working, easy to reach when you need her, completes projects in a timely manner and has an easy going personality. Kristina is bi-lingual – English and Serbo-Croatian – and she uses both frequently when speaking with me! Kristina is a pleasure to work with. If she is not available, she reaches out either via Teams or will call me. She is definitely honest and will keep you straight when you get out of line! She works hard for her clients.
Tony Bester—I admire Tony. Tony is easy going and has a good sense of humor. He has many years in the insurance industry, and I admire his perseverance in not letting his limitations stop him from working. Tony is very good with his clients and his clients highly respect him. Tony has been the most consistent employee for years and is well liked by all employees and clients.
Honor Taylor—I admire Honor. Honor is a very strong and kind woman. Her name says it all: Honor-able! Honor is dedicated, committed, and approachable. She is a respectful team player! Honor is one of my wife’s favorites in the office. Honor is an exemplary service team member. She is willing to help any customer and anyone in our agency. She stays so busy, yet she never makes you feel like she doesn't have time for you. I am proud to work with her! 
Tammy Holton—I admire Tammy. Tammy is dedicated, committed, and approachable. She is a respectful team player! Tammy is such a great team player to work with. Tammy always sounds happy to hear from me. Her clients love her. She goes the extra mile for them, and they know it.
Kathe DiMatteo—I admire Kathe. Kathe is dedicated, committed, and approachable. She is a respectful team player! Kathe is very knowledgeable about Nationwide. She knows more than most Nationwide employees. She is very KIND, approachable, hard working, organized and is willing to take the time to help others; she is a great leader!!! Kathe makes me feel proud of the work I’m doing. Kathe is braver than she knows. She takes care of her clients 110% and her team 110%. She is amazing. I want to be like her.
Yvonne Walters—I admire Yvonne. Yvonne is a very sweet person. Yvonne knows her clients, and her clients know her. She takes time with each of them. Conversations with clients start with insurance, and over time, they build up trust. Yvonne works hard for her clients and it shows. Yvonne truly cares about the customers and the people she works with. She's never too busy to take the time to make the customers feel appreciated or to help me with the many computer issues I've had. She is a genuine person and it shows in her work.
Maurica Easler-- I admire Maurica. She is very good at what she does. Maurica is always ready to ask me to share or provide information for a blog. She is my person. Maurica is always willing to help with a cheerful heart. She has the unpleasant task of hounding us about important marketing projects and emails -- the emails and suspenses can seem like more homework for the executives and reps, but reaching out to our customers about their opinions about our agency and being proactive about large increases help retain our customers and help us improve as a "consultative" organization. I am proud to work with her.
Kristine Bradley--I admire Kristine. She makes me feel like I don’t talk too much! Kristine was very welcoming to me. She has specifically reached out to offer assistance with several items I will be using in the future. Kristine is always willing to help a team member. She is tech savvy and is not shy in sharing her knowledge with her teammates.
Beth Bilbrey--I admire Beth. Anyone who can work their way up in our organization from commercial team assistant to bookkeeper, is amazing. She amazes me – numbers do not stress her out. Beth is always willing to help with a cheerful heart. Her expertise in AMS360 is awesome. She takes time out from her other responsibilities to help anyone on our team. I am proud to work with her.
Joe Lardie--I admire Joe. Joe makes me laugh. He is one driven individual. He is not shy and is willing to try anything once. He knows insurance! I like he is proactive in advertising, and he supports his Irish community. You can't help but love Joe! He's incredibly down to earth and hilarious too. I can see why so many people go to him for their insurance. He works hard to keep things simple for insureds. He doesn't just want to find people insurance; he wants to find the right product and make sure they are protected. He's kind and humble. Plus he always makes me feel appreciated!
