We believe we have the best team we have ever had and we will be introducing a few of them to you over the next few weeks, starting with Mary Delfs.  Mary is one of our Business Insurance, Personal Insurance and Life/Health Insurance Sales Associates.  She is based out of our main office:  25800 North Depot St, Olmsted Falls, OH 44138 and works hard to help her clients tailor a policy that meets their needs.  Mary is caring, hard-working and a team player.

What was your favorite job or project? What was great about it?

One of my favorite jobs was when I loaded trucks at UPS. I walked into the hub in the middle of the night to a moving box line of package after package. By the end of my 4 hours I had 3 package cars (sometimes more)perfectly loaded ready for the driver. What made me so happy about that job was the instant sense of accomplishment that could be felt at the end of every shift. It wasn't by any stretch of the imagination a simple job. It was physically demanding and attention to order and detail were paramount. I enjoyed the challenge. I walked into what amounted to chaos and left with everything visibly in order. I could “see” what I had done.

My favorite project was engineering the move of an entire live network including satellites to a new carrier backbone in under 35 days. I’m pretty sure I didn’t sleep for a month.

What do you consider one or two of your greatest accomplishments?

This is an easy one. Raising my kids, singlehandedly, to be two of the most amazing humans on the planet. Yes I am biased lol They've grown up to be very caring, independent loving adults. Every parent I think wants their children to grow up to be better than they are... mine are.

What is something you’ve had to overcome?

This is a difficult question. I cannot honestly say that compared to others, I’ve really had anything that I would consider something that had to be overcome. Not in the scheme of things. I think mostly because I’ve always just kept moving forward, regardless of any one given set of circumstances. I look around and see the world and know full well there are people with hardships they face every day. They have obstacles that need to be overcome.   No, life isn’t always simple, but at the end of the day it seems that everything falls into place. Growing up in a large family, one of eight, taught me about resilience and staying power. I am an extremely fortunate individual.

What quality do you most appreciate in others?

Patience. We live in a world that moves at the speed of light, sometimes it feels even faster... being patient makes all the difference.

What do people get wrong about you?

That I have an impenetrable exterior.

Who was someone you really enjoyed working with and what was great about it?

When I was the executive director for a provisioning group, my boss, the VP of engineering was Matt Beal. He was intelligent, patient, funny and fiercely protective of his executive staff. He was a wonderful person to be working for during the early years of VOIP. The technology was very new and our company was at the front of it. It was an exciting and exceedingly stressful time. He made all the difference.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Invisibility
