Are you a driver that doesn’t have the best record? If you are in the process of changing this, that shows you are dedicated to your safety and that of others. Operating a vehicle comes with a great amount of responsibility. By putting time and effort into learning the rules of the road, you can become more alert and avoid accidents. In addition, having our SR22 insurance in South Carolina will aid in your protection.
According to The Beaufort Gazette, the rerouting of U.S. 21 through the town of Port Royal instead of the city of Beaufort is now in effect, following several years of planning. The rerouting is expected to send more traffic bound for the Sea Islands through Port Royal. On an average day, 18,600 cars drive down Boundary Street to the intersection of Sams Point Road, according to Maurice Allen with the S.C. Department of Transportation's Beaufort office.
The reason the construction took so long to begin was due to negotiations being made on the plans. For example, Port Royal officials wanted Ribaut Road's speed limit dropped from 45 to 35 mph. It was lowered to 40 mph, but Mayor Sam Murray still wants to see it lower. He said Ribaut is more of a street than a major traffic artery, and the speed limit should reflect that in order to avoid accidents. Boundary Street will undergo several years of construction, possibly starting this summer. "It's not that we don't want people to go to downtown Beaufort, it's just that if people are in a hurry, downtown Beaufort is not the most efficient way to get through," Mayor Billy Keyserling said.
Navigating any road can be tricky, especially if you have a history of bad driving. If you face dangers due to construction, traffic, weather, or animals, you cannot go without coverage, or you will suffer the consequences.
